Project Overview

Led the review, design, development, testing, and optimization of daily email marketing campaigns that resulted in increased deliverability, open rates, CTR, and revenue.

Background

While working in a recent role as a digital marketing specialist for an online eCommerce company, one of my major focuses was on the performance of the email marketing system and campaigns.

The company's core business was heavily dependent on maintaining high performing email sending servers so that they could achieve a high level of inbox deliverability across their other lines of business (non-astrology)

As part of the process for maintaining a high quality sending servers and reputation, the company employed an email marketing initiative that sent daily emails to thousands of B2C contacts around the globe.

Another main objective for these daily emails, was to direct subscribers to a web page with paid advertising and digital product upsells.

Challenge

When reviewing the performance of the daily emails, I noticed that the open rates and click through rates had stagnated with open rates < 8% and CTRs ~1% - this resulted in affecting their sending server performance and ultimately the revenue generated from this channel.

Challenged with improving the email deliverability, open rates, and click through rates of the daily emails, I worked with the email development team and created a detailed plan to review the end-to-end system, test new designs and content, and relaunch with updated content and optimizations.
